Welcome to the East and Southern Africa Office of Social Innovation Africa (SIA)

We are proud to be at the forefront of positive change and sustainable development in the vibrant and diverse region of East and Southern Africa. Our office serves as a catalyst for transformation, bringing together the African Inter-Party Dialogue Network (AIPDN), the Peace and Security Programme, and innovative education technology to drive holistic progress in this dynamic corner of the continent.

At SIA, we believe that sustainable development begins with effective governance and meaningful dialogue. Through the African Inter-Party Dialogue Network (AIPDN) in our capacity as Secretariat, we foster a platform for political parties, policymakers, and stakeholders to engage in constructive conversations, fostering consensus and reducing tensions in the multi-party electoral landscape. AIPDN also serves as an early warning mechanism for conflict prevention, contributing to lasting peace and stability in the region.

Our Peace and Security Programme complements AIPN’s efforts by addressing the critical need for stability and security. We work closely with governments and communities to build resilience, promote conflict resolution, and enhance peacebuilding capacities. Together, we pave the way for a peaceful and secure Africa where progress can thrive.

In order for effective implementation, we strongly believe in collaborative engagements. Our key collaborators include the Mediation Support Unit (MSU), Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IPPIA) at USIU-A, University of Nairobi, African Youth Initiative Network (AYINET), Entrepreneurial Forum for Peace and Development (EFPD),Ethiopia, African Bioethics Network (ABN), Center for Democratic Development CDD-Ghana Civic Forum on Human Development (CFHD), Zimbabwe, Mediation Support Unit (MSU), Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) and the Uganda Council on Foreign Relations (UCFR)
